Atlanta, my dear sweet city of Atlanta here you are again with another cute little hidden gem! Although this is a short trek, it is nonetheless a trail I wanted to mention. This trail's name is the Morningside Trail, located in you guessed it Atlanta, GA.

I will admit that when you arrive it doesn't look like much. There is a small parking lot off to the side of some electrical wiring areas. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my time here and I am not bashing this trail in the slightest! When I pulled up though I wasn't sure what to expect. To my surprise this hiking area goes far back into the woods there making it a nice escape from the traffic.

I will warn you that the trail starts at an uphill slope and you have to work but only for a short few minutes. After that it has the usual ups and downs going across some boardwalk areas and regular dirt paths. I will warn you that there are wooden stairs here and when wet it is slippery, so be careful!

After you go down the first set of stairs you are pretty much in your own world back there. There is you, your buddy, and all the woods surrounding you. You won't even feel like you are in a big city! It was a nice hike with my dog when we went and it wasn't crowded at all. I was even able to let my dog explore a bit, on his loose leash setting!

If you have kids or pets this trail is an easy and short one to complete. I will also say that the trail was clean and very well marked which is something I always appreciate. What I like most about this area is that after the hike, you can check out the local restaurants for a bite to eat!
