Kennesaw Mountain National Battleground Park

Today we are going to talk about a well known spot called the Kennesaw Mountain National Battleground Park. Located in Kennesaw, GA, this is a great option for those of you looking outside of Atlanta. Within this park there are several different activities to choose from. If you are wanting to hike, picnic, or check out the local history then this park might be what you are looking for.

Once you arrive in the park, I recommend stopping by the visitor center to pick up that handy dandy map. While you are there, I would also recommend you check out all your options for your visit. For hiking options, there are several different trails varying in difficulty and length. There are also plenty of areas to gather for a picnic or games with family or friends. Lastly, the park, as it’s name hints, has a museum honoring the battle that took place on site.

Overall this National Park is a solid place to stop by. I have visited a few times now and every time I enjoy myself. The trails are clean and well marked, there are options such as paved or not. The Kennesaw Mountain trail has some great lookout points if you are looking for a city view of Atlanta.

My only warning is that the parking is NOT free! I found out the hard way when I received a parking ticket. So be sure to stop by and either pay ahead of time on the website or stop by the visitor center and pick one up.

If you are in the Kennesaw area in Georgia, I would recommend you stop by this park. I love the trails and everyone there is very friendly and helpful. I cannot speak to the museum itself since I usually am only hiking when visiting, so be sure to ask around. For more information on the history behind this park, please click here. I hope you enjoyed this post, see you on the next one!
