Cascade Springs Trail

Ranking: Easy Pie

Let's talk about hiking options within one of the busiest cities in my state, the city of Atlanta. Now Atlanta might be better known for its filming industries or it being a major airport hub. The city is also well known for the nightlife, job opportunities, and attractions. The first thing that might not come to mind is a nature lover's dream. But this is not the case!

I myself often go into the city to have fun at bars, restaurants, and to check out the shops. Don't get me wrong, this city has something for everyone. But if you ever are looking for a breath of literal fresh air then research nature parks within the city limits. Believe it or not there are so many hiking opportunities within Atlanta. One of these hiking trails that we happened to stumble upon was the Cascade Springs Trail. Although the park itself is on the smaller side it is a welcoming break from all the hustle and bustle.

So let's talk about the park. Located in the Cascade Springs Nature Preserve, the trails there are all pretty easy. Coming in at under 3 miles the Cascade Springs Trail was flat, covered, and well marked. There are other trail options at this park so be sure to take a look around and see what strikes your fancy. I will say that if you are looking for a picnic area or places to sit and relax, this park has a lot of options. There are benches, artwork, and streams throughout so be sure to take your time.

When we went my friend and I happened to run into not only a storm but also some people that made us uncomfortable. So we decided to cut our hike short that day. Now I am not saying that this park is bad or anything like that. Running into creeps can happen anywhere. We were just unlucky that it happened while at this particular park. For more information check out my hiking video here.

So, if you ever find yourself in the city of Atlanta and are looking for some fresh air, then this trail is a great option!
