Arabia Mountain Preserve

If you are looking for a quick get away from the city of Atlanta then look no further than Arabia Mountain Heritage Area. This park is a great area for bikers, hikers, and picnickers alike! So all you need to do is decide what you want to do first. 

Located in Stonecrest, GA, this park is a nice and quaint place to enjoy the fresh air and relax. When you arrive, you have the option to check out the nature center, check out the park map, or get started hiking. This park offers a range of trail options from paved to back country hikes. There are also trails that will lead you to historical sites which you can read up on at the nature center. 

Now let's talk about the trails themselves. When we visited, we ended up hiking the Arabia Mountain trail and the Lake trail. Coming in at 4ish miles combined, the hikes themselves were relatively easy. We ended up getting confused on a trail since I couldn't remember which trail I had wanted to check out to begin with. So take the mileage with a grain of salt. The trails also went from paved, to not paved, to paved again. Not in the mood to go hiking? Then you can go biking or have yourself a picnic with some friends and family. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches so you can unwind and enjoy some snacks along the way. To those interested in biking, the paved trails are abundant and easy to maneuver on. 

We liked this particular park because it was so peaceful, clean, and had well marked trails. If you are ever in this area of Georgia be sure to check out!
